Halloween special: One show only!

Electricity is an amazing phenomenon. For centuries, it has captured the imaginations of people bent on harnessing its enormous power for previously unheard-of ends.

At SPARK Museum, we like to celebrate not only the useful and practical inventions that have arisen from electricity over the years, but also electricity’s unique ability to captivate and enthrall.

To that end, we’d love it if you could join SPARK Museum at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, for a colossal, one-time-only Mad-Science Saturday SPARK Spook Show.

Don’t forget to wear your costume to the SPARK Spook Show on Oct. 27!

This extra-special MegaZapper show is SPARK’s annual ode to times of yore, when electricity was thought capable of raising the dead.

If you’re the type to enjoy the thrill of a tingle down your spine — or if you’ve ever fantasized about being Dr. Frankenstein, putting a tingle into the spine of a cobbled-together corpse — you’re not going to want to miss this show!

(But if you must miss it, there are other fun ways to enjoy SPARK this Halloween — read to the end of this article for info on the Museum’s fun collaboration with the Good Time Girls’ annual Bellingham Gore & Lore tours.)

SPARK Spook Show

SPARK’s Powerhouse Performance Center, which features one of the largest lightning machines in the country, will be transformed into a special mad scientist laboratory on Oct. 27, featuring a variety of jaw-dropping contraptions and devices, many inspired from the original Frankenstein movies.

Here’s a little of what you’ll experience at SPARK Museum of Electrical Invention’s special Halloween-themed SPARK Spook Show this year:

  • Enjoy surprising conversations with famous dead scientists!
  • Meet Maxwell, the robot with a loose screw!
  • See frog legs that jump without the frog!
  • See (or not, as the case may be) invisible forces manipulated!
  • Mad scientist costume contest!
  • Group electroshock therapy!
  • Get chased by walking body bags!
  • Prizes and more!

If that seems like a lot of exclamation marks, well, you’re right. It is. And this special Halloween-themed MegaZapper Electrical Show deserves every one of them. We’ll see you at 2:30 on Oct. 27. Don’t forget to wear your costume!

Gore & Lore Walking Tour

If you can’t be there on Oct. 27 — and even if you can, for that matter — you’ll want to know more about the annual Bellingham Good Time Girls Gore & Lore Walking Tour, which is taking place from 6 to 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays through October.

As we like to do at SPARK, we’re once again getting involved with the ever-popular Gore & Lore Walking Tours from Bellingham’s Good Time Girls. The tour leads visitors through downtown, sharing with them creepy tales from Bellingham’s crypts of unsettling hauntings, strange happenings and horrific true crimes.

Each tour ends at SPARK Museum with one final attempt to reanimate matter via electro-teleportation and a frog leg sandwich. The experiment involves two dead bodies, a couple of Electro-Teleportation Cages, an Etch-A-Sketch from the Underworld, and about 5 million volts of loose electricity. Sounds like fun, right?

Tour dates are October 12, 13, 19, 20, 26 and 27. For more information, visit https://goodtimegirlstours.com/gore-and-lore-tours/.
