The Spark Museum offers guided tours to groups of eight or more people. Tour groups will see the collection and hear fascinating stories from a knowledgeable guide. Groups will also have the opportunity to experience our interactive exhibits. and optionally attend a MegaZapper demonstration or show.

Option 1: Guided Gallery Tour
From ages 6 to 106, this is science and history everyone can appreciate and enjoy. Our tours amaze and inspire thousands of visitors annually and are guaranteed to provide your group with a rare and memorable experience. Docents focus the tours on specified artifacts or collections which often include demonstrations with early electrical devices, our Static Electricity Lab, Edison cylinder phonographs, electronic musical instruments and always at least one of our amazing energy broadcasting Tesla coils. (Groups can include a MegaZapper demonstration for an additional fee.)

Option 2: Guided Gallery Tour with MegaZapper Demonstration
Guided gallery tour including a demonstration of our famous “MegaZapper” Tesla coil. Purchased in combination with Option 1, above, plus an additional $45 fee.
Option 3: MegaZapper Electrical Show
Our signature Show featuring the MegaZapper, a 9-foot tall Tesla Coil, is available for groups of 12 or more during normal Museum hours.
With an explosion of thunder the MegaZapper releases 12 foot arcs of purple lightning–captivating visitors. John Jenkins, Spark Museum President, says this about the show, “It is sort of Franklin meets Frankenstein – science reality meets science fiction fun.” Elements of the Show include a variety of eye-popping machines reminiscent of Frankenstein’s laboratory. The centerpiece is the fantastic ‘Cage of Doom’ designed and built by world-renowned sculptor Ric Allen. At the end of the show, up to three audience members (aged 18+) have the opportunity to enter the Cage of Doom while bombarded with over 4 million of volts of loose electricity blasting out of one of the largest Tesla coils in the Country!

Option 4: Weekend Gallery Tour with MegaZapper Show
An option to include Spark’s regularly scheduled weekend MegaZapper Electrical Show for Gallery Tour groups on Saturdays and Sundays. Docents focus the tours on specified artifacts or collections which may include Ben Franklin, the Static Lab, Edison Cylinders, Theremin, motors, batteries, or any number of other exhibits. After the tour, groups attend the regularly scheduled MegaZapper Show at 2:30 pm. (Min. 9 people; 1 supervising adult for every 6 children ages 5-11 is required)
