Autumn with KMRE

Exciting things are afoot at KMRE 102.3 FM!

We’ve added several shows including “The Off the Beat Music Hour.” Host Mike Gianunzio plays new and time-tested music from an eclectic bag of Americana, blues, folk and more.  Mike makes the music come alive with stories about the artists and how they wrote and recorded the songs that make us smile, think, feel good and want to sing along. Tune in for Fridays at 8pm and Sundays at 5pm.

We’ve got more unusual and interesting shows in development, including perspectives from different communities in Bellingham and Whatcom County, new radio dramas and even a few holiday specials. Want to do a show? Contact us at kmre@sparkmuseum.com to get started.

SPARK Radio has some new-to-us but gently used equipment, including a larger sound board. Unfortunately, much of our equipment is old, out of date and not running as it should. We’re always looking for individuals and businesses to sponsor programs! If you might be interested or know of a business that would love to be associated with community radio, please reach out to us!

Of course, one of the most fun ways to support KMRE is through events! We’re fortunate to have the witty and charming Riley Sweeney as our trivia host! Riley weaves unusual questions in with tidbits about our shows. Just $5 gets you in the door and fabulous prizes await! The next KMRE Trivia Night is September 27 at Goat Mountain Pizza, 7pm.

If trivia isn’t your thing, come grab a potato burrito at Casa Que Pasa Tuesday, October 10.  For each Jumbo Potato Burrito sold that day Casa will donate $1 TO KMRE 102.3 FM. They’ll also match any in-house donations up to $200! KMRE. Come by, say hi, and eat burritos for a good cause!

As always, we’d love to hear from you!  Give us a shout at kmre@sparkmuseum.org . And thanks for supporting Your community, Your Voice, Your Station.
